Built for Leeds Beckett University, The Carnegie School for Sport showcases outstanding architecture, as well as state-of-the-art sports and research facilities.

The £45m project includes a multitude of various facilities; including research Laboratories, enhanced strength and conditioning spaces, a health and wellbeing studio and a unique, covered, 60m rooftop sprint track for performance training and analysis.

Designed by architects Sheppard Robson, the building is the largest of its kind in the UK and will be used by both students and professional athletes from across the country, including Leeds’ own boxing prodigy, Josh Warrington.

The unique architecture of the building consists of a number of precast elements, such as corridor modules and other features of the build. In addition to this, concave aluminium cladding is used on the school’s interior, which gives a chameleon-like colour change effect as it reacts to changes in light.
