Galliford Try is pleased to announce the appointment of Matthew Cain as its new Behavioural Safety Manager to lead and further develop its award-winning behavioural safety programme, Challenging Beliefs, Affecting Behaviour (CBAB).

In his new role, Matthew will be responsible for the ongoing evolution of CBAB, linking wider elements of the business’ strategy such as wellbeing and quality into the programme, supporting CBAB coaches and champions, and promoting its principles within the supply chain, ensuring it remains leading practice in the industry.

Matthew is promoted to the role from his post as Lead Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) Advisor for the Group’s Building North West business, having joined in 2021 and will report to HS&E Director Mike Webb.

Commenting on Matthew’s appointment, Mike Webb said: “Challenging Beliefs, Affecting Behaviour forms the backbone of our approach to health and safety, using awareness, training, coaching and visible leadership to ensure that the safety of our people and those who come into contact with our work remains front and centre on every project Galliford Try works on.

“I am delighted with Matthew’s appointment to this newly formed role, which will ensure that the programme remains fresh, effective and fit for purpose across all parts of our modern business and I look forward to working with Matthew as he drives forward our programme.”
