Galliford Try’s Environment business has successfully scooped this year’s Thames Water Project Pride Award for Communications and Engagement across a Project.

The team at Chapmore End was awarded this accolade for their engagement with the local village and farmers to minimise the disruption during the construction phase, as well as going above and beyond to ensure project logistics ran seamlessly.

Chapmore End is the first construction project on site for Lot 3 Non-Infrastructure of the Thames Water framework, which is currently nearing mechanicals and civils completion. Despite being a small site interface with multiple contractors, the site was carefully managed by the Galliford Try site team and the quality of the install and progress on the project were praised by Thames Water’s Technical Assurance Engineers.

Thames Water’s Project Pride Awards celebrate how teams go above and beyond to do the best for their people, customers, and the business and showcase improving health and safety, and engagement, with Chapmore End really standing out for their engagement and first class communication.

Mark Shadrick, Operations Director, Galliford Try Environment, said: “It is a fantastic accolade to receive a Project Pride Award on our first construction project under the Lot 3 framework. Proactive engagement with local stakeholders and communities to minimise the disruption and impact caused by our activities is a key component of a successful framework. Thanks and well done to all involved.”

Dale Collison, Director, London Capital Delivery Office (Non-Infra), Thames Water, said: “I’m absolutely delighted that Galliford Try and the whole team delivering Chapmore End have received a Project Pride Award. The way the team have really showed care and consideration for our customers and local community sets the bar for all other projects – well done!”

The Chapmore End team received their award on 7 September from Thames Water’s Dale Collison, along with GT’s Mark Shadrick.
