Galliford Try’s Broad Marsh car park project has scooped the Best New Car Park prize at this year’s British Parking Awards.

The £43m development on behalf of Nottingham City Council is believed to be one of the greenest car parks in the country and has quickly become a landmark project for the city.

The scheme features 720 photovoltaic panels installed on the roof, as well as 81 electric vehicle charging points and energy efficient lighting. The vehicle management system helps to reduce vehicle movements and congestion, thereby lowering emissions.

The British Parking Awards are in their 20th year, recognising the leading examples of car park management, enforcement, design and teamwork. Broad Marsh was also a finalist in the Outstanding Car Park category, and has previously struck success with award wins at the Constructing Excellence East Midlands and East Midlands Brick Awards.

Jon Marston, Managing Director of Galliford Try Building East Midlands, commented: “This is another great award recognition for Broad Marsh's state-of-the-art design and sustainability. I would like to congratulate the team for their efforts and hard work in working with our stakeholders to produce such an outstanding scheme.”
